Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 quarts filtered water
  • 6 tea bags (Luzianne preferred)
  • 12 cups seeded watermelon chunks
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  2. Remove from heat, add tea bags, cover, and steep for 15 minutes.
  3. Puree watermelon chunks with lime juice in a blender until smooth. Strain into a pitcher to remove pulp.
  4. Remove tea bags from the saucepan and pour brewed tea into the pitcher with watermelon juice. Stir well.
  5. Serve over ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
