Ingredients
- 200g spaghetti
- 500g ground beef (12% fat)
- 6 crusty white rolls
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 5 garlic cloves (2 minced, 3 as paste)
- 500g tomato passata
- 240ml beef stock
- 200g mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil and parsley
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until golden brown. Stir in minced garlic for another minute.
- Add ground beef, cooking until browned. Pour in red wine and let it reduce slightly.
- Stir in tomato passata, beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, basil, oregano, sugar, and seasonings. Simmer for about 25 minutes until thickened.
- Meanwhile, hollow out the bread rolls and mix melted butter with garlic paste and parsley; brush inside and outside of rolls.
- Boil spaghetti until al dente; drain and mix with sauce.
- Fill bread bowls with spaghetti mixture, top with extra sauce and shredded mozzarella.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes until crispy.
