  • 11 tablespoons unsalted butter (divided)
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream (room temperature)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (divided)
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare the salted caramel sauce by dissolving water and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until it turns amber. Remove from heat; add butter, cream, and salt until smooth. Set aside to cool.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, combine flour and sugar; cut in cold butter until crumbly. Press mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.
  3. In another bowl, mix room temperature butter with sugar and corn syrup until creamy. Beat in the egg, then mix in flour and evaporated milk.
  4. Pour batter over crust; drizzle with cooled caramel sauce and swirl gently using a knife. Bake for about 50 minutes until set but slightly jiggly.
