- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 & 2/3 cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup patriotic sprinkles
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened) for frosting
- 2 & 1/2 cups powdered sugar for frosting
- Pinch of sea salt for frosting
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for frosting
- 1 & 1/2 tablespoons whole milk for frosting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a 9×13 baking dish with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and sea salt. Set aside.
- In a stand mixer, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time followed by vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the flour mixture until combined, then gently fold in the patriotic sprinkles.
- Press dough evenly into the prepared dish and bake for 25–28 minutes until lightly golden brown.
- While cooling, prepare frosting by whipping softened butter until smooth; mix in powdered sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and milk until fluffy.
- Once cooled, frost the bars generously with prepared frosting and add extra sprinkles if desired.
