  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 & 2/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup patriotic sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened) for frosting
  • 2 & 1/2 cups powdered sugar for frosting
  • Pinch of sea salt for frosting
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for frosting
  • 1 & 1/2 tablespoons whole milk for frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a 9×13 baking dish with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and sea salt. Set aside.
  3. In a stand mixer, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time followed by vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until combined, then gently fold in the patriotic sprinkles.
  5. Press dough evenly into the prepared dish and bake for 25–28 minutes until lightly golden brown.
  6. While cooling, prepare frosting by whipping softened butter until smooth; mix in powdered sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and milk until fluffy.
  7. Once cooled, frost the bars generously with prepared frosting and add extra sprinkles if desired.
