Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • For Frosting: ½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar (sifted)
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ cup caramel topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and vanilla until combined. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Gradually add flour and salt; stir until just combined. Fold in the mashed bananas.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. While cooling, prepare the frosting by beating room temperature butter with an electric mixer. Gradually add sifted confectioners' sugar and salt; mix in caramel topping and adjust consistency with milk as needed.
  6. Once cooled, frost the bars and cut into squares to serve.
