  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast

  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

  2. Add beaten egg, softened butter, salt, and flour. Mix until combined.

  4. Roll out dough to about ¼ inch thick; cut into squares.
  5. Heat oil in a Dutch oven to 370°F. Fry beignet squares until golden brown (about 2 minutes per side).
