  • 16 string cheese (cut in half crosswise)
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons milk
  • Oil for frying
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1 cup marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. In three bowls, set up your coating station: one with flour, one with beaten eggs mixed with milk, and the last with seasoned breadcrumbs.
  2. Dip each cheese stick in flour, then egg mixture, followed by breadcrumbs. Repeat this step for a double coating.
  3. Arrange coated sticks on parchment-lined baking sheets and freeze for at least 2 hours.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F.
  5. Fry frozen cheese sticks in batches for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Drain on paper towels, sprinkle with parsley, and serve immediately with marinara sauce.
