  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (divided)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  2. For the shortbread crust, cream together butter and powdered sugar, then mix in flour and salt. Press into the pan and bake for 15 minutes.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine condensed milk, butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, and vanilla. Stir until melted and thickened; pour over the baked crust.
  4. Prepare the brownie batter by mixing granulated sugar with melted butter, then adding eggs, oil, and vanilla. Gradually incorporate sifted cocoa powder and flour along with chocolate chips.
  5. Pour brownie batter over the caramel layer and bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean but moist.
  6. For the ganache topping, heat cream until simmering; remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until smooth. Spread over cooled brownies.
