Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 13×9-inch baking pan with aluminum foil and spray it with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, confectioners' sugar, and salt. Cut in softened butter until the mixture resembles sandy crumbs. Press this mixture into the prepared pan.
  3. Bake the crust for 15 to 18 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
  4. In another bowl, mix brown sugar, dark corn syrup, melted butter, eggs, chopped pecans, and chocolate chips until well combined. Pour this filling over the crust.
  5. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until set in the center. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
