Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 4 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 8 oz linguine or fettuccine noodles
  • Garnish: sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef for about 5 minutes. Add ginger and garlic during the last 2 minutes.
  2. Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente; drain well.
  3. Drain excess fat from the beef, then add brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Stir to combine.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk cornstarch with water to make a slurry. Add to the skillet and simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  5. Toss cooked noodles into the skillet, coating them evenly in the sauce. Let sit for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions.
