  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1/2 tbsp Tony's seasoning
  • 1 cup apricot preserves
  • 1 tbsp chili sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • Dash sriracha
  • 4 slices brioche bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp almond extract (or vanilla)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch nutmeg
  • Pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Clean and pat dry the chicken thighs. Marinate in buttermilk with salt and white pepper for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
  2. Heat oil in a Dutch oven to 350°F for frying.
  3. Prepare breading with self-rising flour and seasonings.
  4. Coat marinated chicken in the flour mixture and fry until golden brown (about 7 minutes per side).
  5. Make the bourbon sweet chili sauce by simmering apricot preserves, honey, bourbon, chili sauce, and sriracha.
  6. For the French toast, whisk eggs, milk, almond extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and dip brioche slices before cooking them on a skillet until golden.
