Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup warm water

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and warm water; sprinkle in the yeast and sugar. Let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
  3. Add sweetened condensed milk, softened butter, and one egg to the yeast mixture. Mix well before gradually incorporating dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  4. Knead on a floured surface for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough gently and shape it into a loaf; place in a greased baking pan and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush the top with an egg wash made from one beaten egg mixed with one tablespoon of water.
  8. Bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
