Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup warm water

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water and instant yeast; let sit until frothy (5-10 minutes).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt. Create a well in the center.
  3. Mix warm milk, sweetened condensed milk, softened butter, and egg in another bowl; pour into the well.
  4. Add the frothy yeast mixture and stir until a sticky dough forms.

  6. Let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  7. Punch down dough gently; shape as desired and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Cover again and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  10. Mix beaten egg with water; brush over dough before baking.
  11. Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until golden brown.
