Ingredients

  • 4 1/25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 packets RapidRise yeast (4 1/2 tsp)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • For filling: 1/4 cup butter, light brown sugar, and cinnamon
  • For icing: cream cheese, unsalted butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Warm water until lukewarm; combine with yeast in a bowl for 5 minutes.
  2. Mix in sugar, salt, melted butter, and egg; gradually stir in flour to form dough.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes; let rise covered for an hour until doubled.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle; spread with softened butter and sprinkle with mixed filling ingredients.
  5. Roll tightly into a log; slice into 12 pieces and place on a greased baking sheet to rise for another 30 minutes.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 25 minutes until golden.
  7. While baking, prepare icing by mixing cream cheese and butter until smooth; add powdered sugar and vanilla.
