  • 4 overripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a small bowl, mash the bananas until smooth and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs, mashed banana, and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture, mixing well.
  5. Sift in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gently fold until just combined; then fold in three-quarters of the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
