  • 360 g all-purpose flour
  • 300 g granulated sugar
  • 150 g dark brown sugar
  • 75 g unsweetened Dutch cocoa powder
  • 270 g sour cream
  • 3 large eggs
  • 400 g butter (for frosting)
  • 660 g powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and prepare three round baking pans.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, sugars, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together oil, sour cream, eggs, vanilla extract, and brewed coffee until smooth.
  4. Gradually mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Divide batter evenly among pans and bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow layers to cool completely before frosting with whipped coffee buttercream.
