- 2 cans cinnamon rolls
- 4 large apples (Granny Smith or Golden Delicious), peeled and diced
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- ¼ – â…“ cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and spray an 8×8 baking dish with nonstick spray.
- In a mixing bowl, combine diced apples, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Cut each cinnamon roll into ¼ inch slices and roll each slice thin on a floured surface.
- Line the bottom and sides of the baking dish with flattened cinnamon rolls.
- Spread half the apple mixture over the rolls and drizzle with caramel sauce; cover with another layer of cinnamon rolls.
- Repeat layering with remaining apples and caramel sauce.
- Cover with remaining cinnamon rolls and bake covered for 30 minutes; remove foil and bake an additional 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.
