  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients alternating with buttermilk; fold in mashed bananas.
  5. Pour batter into the pan and bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. For the frosting, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth; gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla.
  7. Once the cake is cool, frost generously.
