  • 8 ounces full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
  • 3 teaspoons pure vanilla extract, divided

  • 2 and 1/4 cups whole milk
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon for topping
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with nonstick spray.
  2. Cut the bread into 1-inch cubes and layer half in the prepared pan.
  3. Beat cream cheese with confectioners' sugar and vanilla until smooth; dollop over bread. Add remaining bread cubes on top.
  4. Whisk together eggs, milk, brown sugar, and cinnamon; pour over the layered bread.
  5. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Prepare topping by mixing brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and cold butter until crumbly; sprinkle over casserole.
