Scale
  • 125g unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups plain/all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 egg
  • 34 large Granny Smith apples, diced
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • Cinnamon and nutmeg for flavor

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C (350F). Grease and line an 8" square pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until smooth. Add the egg and mix until fully incorporated.

  4. While cooling, mix diced apples with additional flour, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg to create the filling. Spread over the baked base.
