Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 4 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 cups Domino® Golden Sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 2 cups unsalted butter, room temperature (for frosting)
- 8 cups Domino® Powdered Sugar
- 2 tsp almond extract
- 3–5 tbsp heavy whipping cream
- Salt, to taste
- Red and blue gel icing color
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line cupcake pans with liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Beat butter, oil, and sugar until fluffy; add eggs one at a time and vanilla.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients with milk until combined.
- Fill liners two-thirds full; bake for 18-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool cupcakes completely before frosting.
- Beat butter and powdered sugar for frosting; add extracts and cream to achieve desired consistency.
- Color frosting red, white, and blue; pipe into flag patterns on cooled cupcakes.
