  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 4 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 cups Domino® Golden Sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 2 cups unsalted butter, room temperature (for frosting)
  • 8 cups Domino® Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tsp almond extract
  • 35 tbsp heavy whipping cream
  • Salt, to taste
  • Red and blue gel icing color

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line cupcake pans with liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Beat butter, oil, and sugar until fluffy; add eggs one at a time and vanilla.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients with milk until combined.
  5. Fill liners two-thirds full; bake for 18-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool cupcakes completely before frosting.
  7. Beat butter and powdered sugar for frosting; add extracts and cream to achieve desired consistency.
  8. Color frosting red, white, and blue; pipe into flag patterns on cooled cupcakes.
