  • 6 La Brea Bakery Take & Bake Torta Rolls
  • 2 large ripe heirloom tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 large red onion, sliced
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 ½ pounds ground beef
  • 6 slices American cheese
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill and lightly oil grates.
  2. Season tomato and onion slices with salt and pepper; brush torta rolls with olive oil.
  3. Form ground beef into six oval patties; season with salt and pepper.
  4. Grill patties until cooked to your preference (4-6 minutes per side).
  5. Add cheese slices on top of patties towards the end of cooking to melt.
  6. Toast torta rolls on the grill for about 2 minutes cut side down.
  7. Assemble burgers by layering lettuce, tomato, patty with melted cheese, onions, and sauce on rolls.
